May the Fourth Be With You: Fundraising UpdatePosted by admin on May 4, 2012 in 2012, News & Events | 0 comments
Check out this link to Pullman’s View From Axminster that gives an article on Colyton Grammar’s very special Beech House Sixth Formers. It was also name dropped on Radio 2’s Breakfast show on the day!
In March earlier this year and July last year, Phillip Stoneman (aged 18) and friends organised ‘Just a Minute’ events with four competing teachers looking to emulate the BBC 2 and Radio 4 panel show. In total, it seems that they have raised just over £200, which is very good indeed.
We wish to thank to the support of their kind students and the teachers who took part, as well as the support staff in setting out the hall for them. We also ought to mention Buzzgold who kindly provided them with buzzers that gave the event a dose of professionalism! Congratulations to Mr. R. Hendy (2011) and Mr. R. Bush and Mr. M. Smith (2012)!
We also have two marathon efforts that have recently been undertaken by some champion performers.
Fiona Mckenna ran the London Marathon in April 2012 in 4hours 55minutes and we say a big thank you for all the money that she has raised and will be shared between both the CF Trust and the EDCF Quality of Life Fund. Well Done!
Running the Great West Run in Exeter during the start of May are Sam, Ali, Sally and Sue, who have all been in training and are hoping that the weather will be good. Good Luck!
